UCM (Unintended Car Movement)

EN81 20/50 UCM Detection

In the event of an unintended car movement (UCM) of the elevator with open doors, a TÜV-certified safety device (ENA3 / REA3), independent of the existing elevator control system, must trigger the EN81 20/50 brake actuator and immediately bring the elevator to a standstill.

Description

Our type-tested control units ENA3 and REA3 detect the UCM and can be used for all types of elevators equipped with a UCM type-tested braking element (brake actuator), such as speed governor + safety gear, brake for gearless drives, traction sheave brake, rope brake, hydraulic safety valve, etc.

Thanks to this independence and simple integration, our systems are also ideally suited for modernization projects.

Our UCM control units …

  • are independent of control systems
  • are suitable for all types of elevators
  • monitor safety circuits from 24V – 230V AC/DC
  • activate the EN81-20/50 certified braking device in the event of a fault and open the safety circuit
